Pour ces 50 ans, cette édition 2LP noirs propose l'album Live original `Grateful Dead - Skull & Roses', remasterisé par l'ingénieur du son David Glasser (lauréat au Grammy® Award). Cette remasterisation a été faite d'après les bandes master analogiques d'origine combinée à la technologie Plangent Process Speed Correction. Célèbre pour sa pochette emblématique conçue par Alton Kelly et Stanley Mouse, le second Live du Dead surnommé `Skull & Roses', enregistré en mars-avril 1971 à New York et San Francisco, a permis au groupe de remporter son premier disque d'or. Le quintet historique y délivre de puissants titres Rock 'n'Roll (`Johnny B. Goode', `Not Fade Away'), les roboratifs et Bakersfieldiens `Me & My Uncle', `Mama Tried', `Me & Bobby McGee'), sans oublier des incontournables de leur répertoire (`Bertha', `Playing In The Band', `Wharf Rat', la pièce centrale `The Other One').
